NOVARA Global Foundation was born from a simple but urgent belief: the world does not lack solutions. Too many people lack access to them.
For Luis Arreola, Founder and Executive Director of NOVARA Global Foundation, this belief was shaped not in theory, but through life experience. His journey has crossed borders, industries, cultures, and communities—each one revealing both the extraordinary potential of human innovation and the painful reality of inequality.
Growing up in Mexico, Luis learned early the value of hard work, resilience, family, and service. Life on farms and ranches taught him that progress is never abstract; it is measured in the dignity of work, the strength of communities, and the opportunities available to the next generation. He also witnessed how deeply a person’s future can be shaped by access—or lack of access—to healthcare, education, technology, and support systems.
Personal experiences with illness and the challenges families face when resources are limited made this understanding even more profound. These moments showed him that behind every statistic is a human being, a family, a story, and a future that deserves protection. Driven by a desire to understand how communities grow, struggle, and prosper, Luis lived, studied, worked, and volunteered across the Americas, Europe, and North Africa.
He worked in the agricultural sector and saw how farming sustains families and drives economic development.
He witnessed the sharp contrast between prosperity and poverty.
He taught children in an orphanage and experienced the life-changing power of mentorship, hope, and human connection.
He pursued graduate studies in international relations, deepening his understanding of global cooperation, development, and the shared responsibilities that unite nations.
His professional path later led him to serve with the United States Department of Agriculture and the United States Department of Commerce, where he supported scientific exchanges, agricultural development, international trade, and economic growth initiatives. Over the years, he worked with hundreds of organizations across industries including agriculture, education, energy, aerospace, healthcare, advanced manufacturing, and emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, robotics, and quantum innovation.
Through this work, Luis saw a pattern that became impossible to ignore: many of the technologies capable of improving lives already exist, but they often do not reach the people and communities that need them most.
NOVARA was created to close that gap.
Novara’s mission reaches across areas such as education, neurodiversity, healthcare, workforce development, agriculture, environmental sustainability, water access, humanitarian innovation, nonprofit capacity building, artificial intelligence, robotics, and space-inspired learning. Each initiative is guided by one central question: how can innovation serve people better?
Our inspiration reaches toward the stars, but our purpose remains grounded here on Earth. Space exploration reminds us that humanity shares one fragile home, one future, and one responsibility to care for one another and the planet that sustains us. Emerging technologies remind us that knowledge must be guided by ethics, humility, fairness, and human dignity.
